Compliance with the US Conflict Minerals Clause
Concerns that mineral resources (3TG: tantalum, tin, tungsten, and gold) mined in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and nine neighboring countries (DRC countries) may be a source of finance for armed groups, causing human rights violations and environmental damage, led to the enactment of the Dodd Frank Act of 2010. Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Act was enacted in 2010.
MACOME CORPORATION regards conflict minerals as a social responsibility as a company and is committed to not using raw materials made from conflict minerals that have been mined or extracted using illicit or illegal methods, as well as parts and components that contain conflict minerals.
MACOME CORPORATION follows the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas in conducting due diligence on the country of origin and distribution process of minerals in the supply chain.
Policy
Conflict minerals (tantalum, tin, tungsten, and gold) from the Democratic Republic of Congo and neighboring countries have become a source of funding for armed groups, causing human rights abuses and environmental destruction. In cooperation with its suppliers, MACOME CORPORATION is implementing initiatives to eliminate conflict minerals, such as conducting supply chain surveys using tools provided by the CFSI*, an organization that promotes responsible mineral procurement.
*: CFSI (Conflict-Free Sourcing Initiative: International initiative on conflict minerals).
Conducting conflict minerals surveys
The CFSI forms (CMRT) standardized by the EICC and GeSI are used to carry out conflict mineral surveys.
